FAQ

We’ve gathered this FAQ to help you save time and get the most out of your experience. Read through it first and you’ll find answers to the most common questions and avoid common pitfalls.

Subscriptions

I have purchased a subscription but the app still requesting it?

The most likely reason is that the date of your event and the start date of your subscription differ by more than 24 hours.

It is important to understand how RaceTime subscriptions work. For your event to be unrestricted, its start date must fall within the subscription period.

When you purchase a subscription, we add an additional 24 hours to the past. This ensures that the subscription works for those who purchase it after the event begun but on the same day.

However, if you purchased a subscription and your race was several days ago, the subscription will not work.

This can easily be fixed by changing the event date to one after the subscription start date.

My subscription was renewed this morning, but I still cannot see the full results.

It is a very unfortunate coincidence when you hold a race on the day your subscription renews, but your payment may not be processed instantly and will remain “on hold” for some time. This could create a gap of a few hours, or even 24 hours.

There is nothing you can do about it. Please ask support to enable your event.

Do I need to buy separate subscriptions for web and mobile?

No. A single subscription gives you full access everywhere. You can choose where to purchase your subscription:

  • On the web: processed securely through Stripe.

  • In the app: billed through the App Store (iOS, macOS) or Google Play (Android).

Once you purchase is completed, just sign in with the same account on any platform, and your subscription will automatically sync.

Payment methods and pricing may vary slightly depending on platform's store policies, taxes, and currency rates, but the features and access you get are identical.

Do the people I invite to manage the race need to have a subscription?

No, they don't need to. Only the account that created the event needs to have a subscription.

How to cancel my subscription?

It's depend on where you bought it. We recommend to find information about cancellation by reading corresponding Apple and Google pages.

In web app you have a link to billing portal in Subscriptions screen.

Race day

How is a participant's time calculated during a time trial/mass start?

This is done individually for each participant. The order in which they start is not important.

Some participants are late, but we can still give them the opportunity to start. How can we do this?

You can register additional participants even after the main group has been started. Once registered, they will automatically appear on the start list, just like the participants who were registered earlier.

From a timing standpoint it's fine. We calculate the results for each participant individually.

Do participants need to have the app installed on their smartphone?

No. They can install RaceTime to see the results and the list of registered athletes (though they need shared link to connect a particular event) but their devices does not participate in the timing process.

Collaboration

How can other people access the race information/results?

Share your event with your audience using the Share button in the application bar. Anyone who follows the link will be able to view your event and real-time results in read-only mode. If they are new users, they will be asked to create an account.
